Our History & Our Family

Members of the Hasegawa family have been honored at beauty competitions around the world, including the Shiseido Beauty Festival Contest and the Vidal Sassoon Cup. We founded our beauty school in 1950 and have operated three salons in Japan.

With over 40 years in the beauty industry, Megumi Hasegawa has always dreamed of sharing authentic Japanese beauty techniques with the world. Opening Jive Jive in North Vancouver, Canada, has made that dream come true for her — and for all of us.

Today, that dream is carried on by Megumi’s daughter and son-in-law,Teruomi Nemoto — known to everyone as Nemo.

A talented stylist from Tokyo, Nemo has been part of Jive Jive for over 10 years and is truly loved by our local community.

Our creative team is like a family. Each stylist brings their own specialty and passion to the chair. We are a friendly, down-to-earth team who takes the time to listen. Through careful consultation, we’ll find your ideal image and create a beautiful, lovable style that suits you perfectly.
